The DEFINE-UK model applies the ecological stock-flow consistent approach of DEFINE to the UK. Drawing on the techniques that have been used for the development of country-specific empirical stock-flow consistent models, the structure of DEFINE-UK is derived directly from UK national accounting data about macroeconomic, financial and environmental variables. The model is used to generate scenarios for the UK macrofinancial system and its environmental impacts under different environmental policies.  

DEFINE-UK pays particular attention to the UK housing stock, the distinction between monetary and non-monetary financial institutions and the role of the power sector. The figure below provides a high-level overview of the structure of the model.
